Sunny Gupta is the Co-founder, and CEO of Apptio and serves on the company’s board of directors. He is a product visionary and innovator whose customer obsession led him to conversations with CIOs where he uncovered the market demand for creating an analytics based business management system for IT. Since founding Apptio in late 2007, he both pioneered Apptio’s market category, Technology Business Management (TBM), and drove the company to become the market leader in this disruptive category with significant scale.
Prior to founding Apptio, Sunny was EVP Products at Opsware, responsible for all of Opsware product businesses up to its acquisition by HP. He was also the co-founder and CEO of iConclude, which pioneered the IT runbook automation market and drove its acquisition by Opsware. Previously Sunny held senior leadership roles in Products, Business Development and Engineering at Mercury Interactive, Rational Software, and IBM. Sunny earned a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of South Carolina, was selected as a Top 40 CEO's under 40, and was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year finalist in 2011.
Kurt is a co-founder and CFO at Apptio. Kurt brings more than 15 years of financial and operational management experience to the company. Prior to co-founding Apptio, Kurt oversaw the corporate finance, legal, accounting, human resource, and information technology functions at iConclude. Kurt was instrumental in completing the successful sale of iConclude to Opsware in 2007.
Before joining iConclude, Kurt was VP of Finance at Pacific Edge Software where he led fundraising efforts that secured over $40 million in venture equity and debt financing. Kurt's tenure at Pacific Edge culminated in the sale of the company to Serena Software. Kurt began his career at Ernst & Young LLP's assurance and advisory business services group. He holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington.
As the Chief Marketing Officer of Apptio, Chris holds responsibility for strategy and world-wide market development. He is an accomplished enterprise software executive with over 25 years of experience in building new categories and executing differentiated go-to-market strategies. In early 2012, Chris championed the spin out of Apptio's CIO advisory board into a nonprofit business entity of thousands of members focused on creating the professional discipline, standards and industry benchmarks required to manage the business of IT. As such, Chris serves as the President of the Technology Business Management Council to help CIOs transform the IT value proposition via TBM methodologies and best practices.
Prior to Apptio, Chris was an operating partner in Austin Ventures' CEO-in-residence program where he focused on identifying new growth strategies and defining disruptive business models. He was also the Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Products at NetIQ for eight years and ran Ernst & Young's Global security practice for four years.
Larry is Apptio’s Chief Revenue Officer and is responsible for driving revenue generation, channel strategy and sales excellence for the company. Larry brings more than 20 years of experience building and leading high performance sales teams in the enterprise software industry.
Larry joined Apptio in 2009 as vice president of sales and has played an instrumental role scaling the organization while bringing Apptio to broad set of customers across the Global 10,000. Prior to joining Apptio, he was a vice president of sales for HP Software (via the Opsware acquisition). There, he led teams that delivered hundreds of millions in annual revenues. As SVP of Sales at Opsware, Larry's customer acquisition and leadership success played a key role in the company's $1.6 billion acquisition. Larry also spent more than six years in various sales leadership roles at Veritas Software, contributing to their rapid ascent and eventual acquisition by Symantec. Larry was a commissioned officer in the United States Army and holds an MBA from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.
As EVP of Products and Engineering, Beack will lead the evolution of the next generation of Apptio's SaaS applications by fusing intelligent analytics with process and continuing to expand Apptio's product portfolio. Prior to Apptio, Beack served as CTO at Vertafore and led its product development efforts. Before that, he held several senior leadership roles at Amdocs, BEA Systems, Inc. and Software AG. Theo brings more than 25 years of experience in enterprise class software, architecture, technology strategy and innovation spanning multiple industries. Theo was also the winner of Seattle Business' 2016 Executive Excellence Award and earned two computer science degrees from the Tshwane University of Technology in his native South Africa.
John is Apptio’s EVP, Corporate Development and General Counsel, responsible for corporate development, strategic business development, legal, privacy, corporate governance and compliance matters. He has extensive experience working with technology companies, especially in growing and scaling enterprise SaaS businesses. John brings significant transactional leadership experience including more than 50 domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, 20 initial public offerings and follow-on public security offerings, and numerous equity and debt financings, as well as advising on corporate governance, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, data privacy, IT security and general business matters. He has deep expertise working with the Boards of Directors and senior management teams of both private and public companies.
Prior to joining the Apptio team, John was SVP, Corporate Development and Legal Affairs, General Counsel and Secretary at Vertafore, a leader in modern insurance technology acquired for $1.4 billion in 2010. During his tenure at Vertafore, he held a variety of roles and was most recently responsible for corporate development, strategic business development, legal matters, data privacy, IT security and compliance. John was previously a shareholder with Heller Ehrman LLP, a major international law firm, specializing in representing technology companies. He holds a BA in political science from DePauw University and a JD from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
Dione Hedgpeth is the SVP of Customer Success at Apptio, where she owns the operations and customer experience for Apptio’s 500+ customers. She has over 25 years of experience in enterprise IT and has a track record of scaling SaaS customer-facing teams. Dione has served in a number of executive positions over the past 15 years, including running global and managed services at Precise Software Solutions, where she was named to the MSPmentor list of top 250 managed services executives. She has also served in a number of roles at Mercury Interactive across global support and professional services, as well as building Mercury's SaaS business from the ground up. She holds a BS in computer science and engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Britt is Apptio's Executive Vice President of People and Culture, responsible for leading Human Resources, coaching executives and managers to become more effective leaders, and fostering Apptio’s high performing culture. Britt has over 15 years of experience leading HR teams in all aspect of the function, across a number of business sectors.
Before joining Apptio, Britt was VP, Human Resources at Avanade, a global technology solutions and managed services firm. She served in many roles during her tenure at Avanade including leading HR for their APAC business, Service Lines organization and all Corporate functions. She was a trusted advisor to many Avanade leaders, while also creating and delivering key strategic and operational people programs as part of her responsibility. Britt is passionate about creating an amazing employee experience. She also believes that HR contributes to business growth and performance by developing talent and showcasing and strengthening a strong organizational culture. She holds a BA from the University of Washington and a MBA from University of Colorado.
Mark Jancola currently serves as Vice President and General Manager of Apptio’s Digital Fuel business. In this role, Mark is responsible for leading the vision, strategy, operations, and the global cross-functional team. Mark is deeply focused on delivering customer value and is dedicated to ensuring Fortune 500 IT leaders globally are empowered to manage their hybrid IT environments with business acumen. Formerly, Jancola served at VP, TBM Products and Engineering where he was responsible for defining and delivering on the product strategy to power the flagship business of the company.
Previously, Jancola was VP of Engineering at HP Software, overseeing worldwide R&D activities in the Business Service Automation division. This division encompassed datacenter and desktop client automation products spanning legacy HP solutions and the Opsware line of products. Additionally, Jancola was VP of Advanced Products and Technology at MidStream Technologies, Inc. Jancola began his career at Active Voice Corporation, where he held multiple positions over a ten year period. Jancola holds an MBA and BSEE from the University of Washington. He is a regular guest lecturer UW and speaker at industry / technical conferences.
